-No real refutation offered

-Using Bayes doesn't mean "you and everyone you know is Asian".

-When did you last use a spam filter?

-Bayesian statistics can work pretty well. In fact, for me, Asian email's shouldn't get through much, cause since I can't read a single fancy little character, let alone paragraphs and paragraphs of them, it's probably spam.

There is an invisible third way between these pictures, that I think some have not noticed.

The problem is that sites ask dumb questions where often the answers are elsewhere online. Being open and honest online itself, isn't the problem.

I hate it when directory portals like About.com do silly things like this. The more niche interests you target, the more unreasonable your content has to be?

Using Photographs to Enhance Videos of a Static Scene

Aug 16, 10:19am

From the page: "We present a framework for automatically enhancing videos of a static scene using a few photographs of the same scene. For example, our system can transfer photographic qualities such as high resolution, high dynamic range and better lighting from the photographs to the video. Additionally, the user can quickly modify the video by editing only a few still images of the scene. Finally, our system allows a user to remove unwanted objects and camera shake from the video."

Very ThoughtTrail! Produced with Mozilla, Aurora is a set of nice mockups, illustrating the kinds of product designs AdaptivePath like, showing their vision of the future. I have to say, AdaptivePath and Mozilla's vision for Aurora is *VERY* aligned to what we're doing with ThoughtTrail. They've done a nice job.

I see problems with the fingerprint scanner feasibility, and the radial interface. But they show useful solutions to information overload, and information discovery, at the same time. Again, it's very similar to what we're working on at ThoughtTrail.

The best bit is not shown first, first they show a radial menu interface that requires too much clicking, they can do better than that, it seems a bit rushed.
The best bit, is the contextual goo here:

This is accurately showing how we will replace the outdated files and folder navigation methodology, and replace it with semantic aware technology.

AdaptivePath, will be releasing our next mockup soon ;)
